Gaylord’s Islanders will begin the River Valley League playoffs at Le Sueur on Wednesday, July 24th.  The two teams will play a best-of-three series to determine who advances to the Region 6C Tournament.  Game two will be in Gaylord on Friday (7:30 p.m.), then back to Le Sueur on Sunday (6:00 p.m.) for a game…

Gaylord baseballer Brody Rodning was claimed by the Houston Astros on Friday, June 14th.  He was on a flight to Houston two days later and then to the team’s High A affiliate in Asheville, North Carolina.

Propelled by senior guard Joe Ballalatak, Sibley East’s boys’ basketball team came back to beat Norwood Young America 60-57 Monday night in Arlington.  Ballalatak scored 24 second half points for the Wolverines.

A spectacular season for Sibley East’s 4×800 relay team ended last week at the State meet.  To see what the Lady Wolverines accomplished this season, see the June 15th issue of The Hub.

Sibley East baseballer Nate Colling was named to the All-Conference Team while Devon Jenneke received honorable mention.

Sibley East’s boys’ and girls’ track teams held their first outdoor meet last week and there was no shortage of first place finishes for the Wolverines.  See the results in the April 20th edition of The Gaylord Hub.

Sibley East’s girls’ basketball team netted one of their best wins of the season so far.  The Lady Wolverines overcame a late deficit to defeat Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 68-63 at Arlington.
