Medical school news
The Gaylord Hub learned, at the April 27th Sibley County work session, that there has been some discussions among city officials
on the medical school property. Plans were to develop the old public school building here into a medical school. Construction started here two years ago, but quickly came to a halt. Since that time, The Hub has been unable to get answers on the status of the facility. At Tuesday’s work session, county administrator John Glisczinzski informed commissioners that he received a letter from Gaylord interim administrator Rick Almich. In that letter, Almich explained that he and city officials met with a “party” representing the interest of bond holders for the proposed medical school. Because the owners group has defaulted on debt service requirements, the “party” is now charged with identifying alternative uses for the building.
