Vaccination spike reported for Sibley County residents

With the surge of the Delta variant of the COVID-19 vaccine, there has been more interest recently among Sibley County residents to get vaccinated.
Klea Rettmann, director of Sibley County Public Health and Human Services, said that to date, since the Wednesday Walk-in Clinics
began June 23, Sibley County Public health has administered 65 COVID-19 vaccinations. The number of vaccinations given per week
is as follows: 6/23 – 3; 6/30 – 16; 7/7 – 2; 7/14 – 3; 7/21 – 4; 7/28 – 20; and 8/4 – 17.
As of Aug. 3, 50.3% of Sibley County residents age 12 and older have completed the vaccine series, and 52.4% have had at least one vaccine dose. 52.6% of Sibley County residents age 16 and older have completed the vaccine series, and 54.7% had had at least one vaccine dose. Among Sibley County residents age 65, 80.2% of the residents have completed the vaccine series, and 81.6% have had at least one vaccine dose.
