Sibley County Engineer Tim Becker provided a 2021 Public Works Department annual report at a county board meeting earlier this month.  See the August 25th Hub for information on his report and plans to improve gravel roadways.

Sibley East’s School Board held its regular meeting last week and approved a refuse contract and handbooks for the upcoming school year.  For more, see the August 25th issue of The Hub.

For the third time in the last six seasons, Gaylord’s amateur baseballers have earned a state tournament berth.  The Islanders won a spot in State Tuesday by defeating St. Peter 8-2 in the Region 6C Tournament.  It marked Gaylord’s eighth victory in its last ten outings.  For more details and state tournament bracket, see next…

And then there was two.  These Sibley County Commissioner candidates were the top vote-getters in Tuesday’s primary election.   District 3 (which includes the City of Gaylord): Lyle Grochow (161) and Fred Latzke (154); District 1: Peter Koch (291) and Morris W. Lieske (268); District 2: James Soeffker (212) and Christian Lilienthal (125).
