Marcie Kloempken – 85

Marcie Ann Kloempken, 85, of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.
Funeral Service was on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 11 a.m. at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 West Orange Street, Lancaster, PA. The Nurses Honor Guard began the service with the Nightingale Tribute to honor Marcie’s years as a nurse. Interment followed the service at St. Agnes Cemetery, 1050 Pottstown Pike, West Chester, PA.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Marcie’s name to Grane Hospice Care, 1010 Plymouth Road, Suite D, York, PA 17402.
Born in Cloquet, she was the daughter of the late August and Sophie Deppa. She was the beloved wife of the late Duane L Kloempken for 42 years until his passing in 1999.
After graduating from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud. Marcie attended Charles T. Miller Nursing School. With a heart to serve others, she proudly worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years.
Her career took her from Minnesota, to Devon, PA, Phoenixville, PA, and lastly Downingtown, PA, where she retired before moving to Lancaster, PA, 10 years ago.
Marcie was very family oriented and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Along with her family, she enjoyed trips to their Minnesota cabin, where they would fish, boat, swim, and camp. She also took trips to Myrtle Beach, SC, and Gatlinburg, TN. Marcie was an excellent cook and enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens and liked to paint. She loved Rock N’ Roll, Elvis, The Beatles, and Motown. As a devout Catholic, Marcie’s faith in the Lord was important to her.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Michael D. Kloempken of Phoenix, AZ, daughters, Lori L Kloempken of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Staci L Schupp (David) of Mount Joy, PA, sister-in-law, Janet Deppa of Stillwater, MN, brother-in-law Gary Kloempken (Shirley) Gaylord, granddaughters, Katherine and Rachel, nieces, Terri, Shelli, Kristi, Cindi, Sarah, and nephews Erik, Darren, and Charles.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Deppa, and brother-in-law Gene Kloempken.
