Kayakers rescued

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with other law enforcement, rescued  a family of four who got stuck while kayaking Saturday on the Minnesota River.  The call for help came at approximately 5:00 p.m..  It was reported that the family was stuck along a tree in the river, and was unable to free themselves due to the current.  Deputies were able to locate the kayakers from shore and a watercraft was used in the rescue.  The kayakers were brought back to shore with the assistance of a Game Warden with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.  Assisting agencies included Henderson Fire/Rescue, Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, Le Sueur Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and the DNR.

Note:  This report from the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office came in after the print edition of The Hub went to press this week.
