Power outage
Most of the east end of Gaylord was out of power for four hours Wednesday evening after high winds toppled an oak tree onto a power line. Power flickered a couple of times and then went out completely at approximately 7:30 p.m. Gaylord firefighters and law enforcement responded to the scene on Lincoln Avenue to block traffic. Gaylord Fire Chief Justen Rose said once Xcel Energy clarified that the down power line was not live, firefighters were able to clear the tree from the roadway.
