Legion baseballers now 5-0

Sibley East’s American Legion baseball team remained unbeaten on the season after sweeping Lester Prairie on Thursday.  The Wolverines were scheduled to host Waterville-Elysian-Morristown on Monday….due to rain that tilt was postponed and Sibley East will play a doubleheader on this Thursday.  For more on Legion baseball, see our July 1st edition.

School board OK’s budget

Although there are several unknowns, the Sibley East School Board, at its June 21 meeting, approved the Fiscal Year 22 general, food service, and community service district budgets. The proposed budget estimates revenue to be $16,737,622, while expenditures are estimated to be $16,880,443. It is estimated that expenditures will exceed revenue by $142,821.

Flag disposal ceremony

The Manthey-Asmus Legion Post held its annual flag disposal ceremony last Monday in the city park.   It took approximately one hour to properly dispose of the flags.  Area residents are encouraged to drop off unserviceable (worn) flags at the Gaylord Legion club.  The club also has new flags for sale.
