Sibley East’s football team will try to even out its win-loss record Friday at Norwood Young America.  The Wolverines opened the season with a decisive win over Belle Plaine, but has since lost to Tai-City United and Pipestone.  For more on the Wolverine grinders, see this week’s edition.

This past weekend marked the 25th anniversary of Gaylord’s spectacular run in the Class C State Amateur Baseball Tournament.  The Islanders forced a second championship game but eventually finished runnerup to Plato in front of a record crowd at Glencoe.  For the complete story, see the Sept. 9th issue of The Hub.

A team representing the Gaylord Islanders helped out Saturday at the Class C State Amateur Baseball Tournament in Hamburg.

Sibley East athletes began preseason workouts Monday in preparation for the fall seasons.  Previews of cross country, tennis, football and volleyball, complete with schedules, will appear in an upcoming edition.

Gaylord’s amateur baseballers were one win shy of a second straight trip to the class “C” state tournament.  The Islanders finish the season with a record of 14-12.  For game results from this past weekend, see the August 19th issue of The Hub.
