Caroline Reckdahl – 88
Caroline Reckdahl, age 88, of Gaylord passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 10, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington with interment in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Gaylord. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9, 2021, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.The Rev. Eugene L. Lozinski will officiate.
Caroline Margaret Reckdahl was born on July 11, 1932, in Glencoe. She was the daughter of Henry B. and Frances M. (Gehlen) Schroeder. Caroline was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Glencoe. She received her education in Glencoe and was a graduate of the Glencoe High School Class of 1950. Caroline was employed as the office manager and bookkeeper for the Glencoe Medical Clinic for 19 years.
On June 26, 1976, Caroline was united in marriage to Waldo Reckdahl at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Glencoe. After their marriage, the couple resided in Gaylord. Caroline was employed as a loan administrator at People Savings Bank for 10 years and then ProGrowth Bank in Gaylord for 2 years, retiring in 1998. Caroline and Wally shared 44 years of marriage.
Caroline was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Gaylord.
Caroline enjoyed traveling by bus and motorhome, bowling and embroidering. She enjoyed accompanying her husband, Wally on an occasional casino trip. She cherished the time she spent with Wally and her family and friends.
Caroline is survived by her husband, Waldo “Wally” Reckdahl of Gaylord; Sisters, Geraldine “Gerry” Mickolichek of Silver Lake, Jeanette Neubarth of Brownton, and Elizabeth “Betty” Schroeder of Glencoe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Frances Schroeder; sister, Arleen Radke; brother, Edmund Schroeder; sister-in-law, Lorraine Schroeder; brothers-in-law, Marlin “Sharky” Radke, David Mickolichek and Virgil Neubarth.
